WE LOVE SAUNA​!

 

Imagine sitting in a sauna in the middle of a capital in Europe. Yet there are no signs of the buzz from the city.

All you see is a beautiful clear river slowly passing by. All you hear is the calming sound of wood burning in the oven. Can you hear it?

The river Akerselva in Oslo was our neighbour for 10 years and this is where we with fellow neighbours started up and ran 3 different drop-in saunas through the non-profit company Lilleborg Elvebadstue. This is where we deep dived into the benefits of heat and cold exposure. Doing sauna all year around and cold plunged during winter in the 0 degree celsius river. No need for the ever growing science to inspire us. You just feel it.

Coming from Norway we grew up in a Nordic sauna culture where saunas always were a part of our lives.

In the winter mountains after skiing we sat in the sauna followed by bathing in the snow. In those days few knew that the use of sauna would explode and change the sauna culture around the world.

 

And this is a shift that finally is coming to the Mediterranean. ​​What we basically are doing is bringing the Scandinavian sauna culture to Mallorca with the intention of merging with different international traditions that are present on this melting pot of an island. And as with the non profit neighbourhood sauna in Oslo we want to give back. So, while we develop and grow we will keep an eye on projects which we want to support.

WHY SAUNA TRAMUNTANA ?

 

The sauna experience reflects the qualities of Tramuntana; the silence and tranquility, the health benefits, the energy it has and the energy it creates. The space to zone in or out. Sharing with friends or enjoying alone the sauna (and the Tramuntana) give you what you need.

 

As Norwegians we have a close relationship to nature. The forest and mountain has been an integral part of our life. When moving to Mallorca it was clear that we wanted to establish a home close to the beautiful and serene Tramuntana mountain range. We now live in Bunyola and use the Tramuntana for hiking, sports climbing, sleeping in hammock - and even homework with our kids.

​And WE LOVE SAUNA. So, what other name for our sauna company than SAUNA TRAMUNTANA?​​
